Group Launched !
Hello all.... I am Member Gerald309 as Group Owner. I am a native and lifelong Pennsyvlvania resident except for my 'bi-coastal' ten years as a California resident. My experience with malware removal is reflected in the website I started that you may have already heard of or visited - the now famous BlueCollarPC.Net. I am also webmaster (owner) of the sister .org namesake. The BlueCollarPC.Net launched in Fall, 2005 has enjoyed and boasts of over 4 Million Visitors / Users. This is unprecedented traffic for a Personal Website and no doubt attributed to today's cyber crime enviroment that mushroomed and even flourished.
As webmaster (owner) of the BlueCollarPC.Net - I have added much information and links with online malware search engines by the industry itself. As well, I have added the extended groups and lists. Since it is a website of great value to the Community as intended, I also now like to think it is an asset even as a now Philadelphian to our area. Philadelphians have an uncanny knack to tackle problems and solve them, and one instance being our famous Cold Case Files 'institution'. The world has heard "You Never Argue With A Philly Lawyer" and that's that ! Helping anything along the lines of reports like $45 Billion dollars lost in electronic and identity theft due to malware for year 2007 in the USA is the hope and mission and goal of both the BlueCollarPC.Net and subsequently launched BlueCollarPC.Org (dial up friendly) as Webmaster of both.
Did I mention I have "discovery" in the security software industry ? These were the RAS autodial Registry entries made by malwares. I know my XP machine like the back of my hand and now also have a newer Vista empowered PC. As an Advanced User, I do however have a bit of a computer background - but in older systems. I earned a Data Processor Certificate learning on IBM 029 and Univac 026 Data Processing Machines and worked with the room filled size computer, the Univac/Sperry Rand (now Unisys) 9200/9300 Series Computer with COBAL. Today, these same type systems sit right in front of us called Personal Computers. Amazing.
Perhaps if membership increases here we can set up a Philly User Group for live meetings as a cafe setting or library. Visit the http://www.BlueCollarPC.Net and check out our other groups and lists to join as well as our new BCPCNet Community Portal Forums located at: http://bluecollarpc.net/smf/index.php
